Diese Reise stand schon lange auf meiner Wunschliste und wir begannen schon im Herbst letzten Jahres- kurz nachdem meine H\u00fcndin Abby gestorben war- mit der Planung. 4 Wochen sollten es sein. Erst New York und dann \u00a0die Ostk\u00fcste mit dem Mietwagen hinunter In North Carolina die Outer Banks anschauen, in Savannah und Charleston den unverwechselbaren S\u00fcdstaatenflair einatmen und in Florida das relaxte Leben geniessen. Doch es ergab sich, dass kurz nach Ostern unser Welpe einziehen w\u00fcrde, und so warfen wir unsere Pl\u00e4ne \u00fcber Bord und planten 2 Wochen \u00a0New York und Florida.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Wir flogen \u00fcber Frankfurt mit der Lufthansa nach Newark, einer der drei Flugh\u00e4fen von New York. Von dort brachte uns ein Fahrservice ( der leider viel zu sp\u00e4t kam) in unser Hotel am Columbus circle. Wir entschieden uns f\u00fcr das Mandarin Oriental http:\/\/mandarinoriental.com<\/a>\u00a0Hotel, da von dort der Central Parc, die Museen und die \u00a0Oper gut zu erreichen sind. Des Weiteren bietet es eine spektakul\u00e4re Aussicht. Der Service war, wie zu erwarten, extrem freundlich und das housekeeping unsichtbar und perfekt. So wieso boten auch schon die normalen Zimmer mit 40 qm f\u00fcr New Yorker Hotels extrem viel Platz und die morgendlichen Runden im Hotelpool mit Ausblick auf den Hudson River waren eine Genuss.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

F\u00fcr die folgenden Tage war k\u00fchles und unbest\u00e4ndiges Wetter angesagt. Was bietet sich da mehr an, als sich in die Kunst zu st\u00fcrzen. MOMA, Guggenheim und Metropolitan Museum of art standen auf unserem Programm. Obwohl wir den Blick vom sch\u00f6nen Treppenaufgang im Guggenheim Museum nicht geniessen konnten und das Dachgartenrestaurant im MET geschlossen war, beeindruckte mich um ein Neues die unglaubliche Anzahl \u00a0der ber\u00fchmtesten Bilder , die man in den drei Museen zu sehen bekommt. Sehr gerne h\u00e4tte ich noch die frick collection auf der upper \u00a0east Side besucht, doch sie \u00f6ffnet erst Ende April.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ein absolutes highlight \u00a0war unser Abend in der New Yorker Oper. Festlich eingel\u00e4utet durch das pre show Dinner im Foyer genossen wir die wunderbare Musik von Mozarts „Zauberfl\u00f6te“. Genauso sehenswert waren die Besucher, vom ergrauten Stammpublikum aus der upper east Side \u00a0im Smoking, Pelzmantel und langen Abendkleid bis zu den jungen asiatischen Influencerinnen, auf der Suche nach der besten Pose f\u00fcr ihren Instagram account war alles vertreten. Es ist rundum ein grosser Genuss, und ich kann einen Besuch jedem nur ans Herz legen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Essengehen in New York ist phantastisch und …ziemlich teuer ( zumindest in Manhattan). Wir haben trotzdem hier das beste Steak , die leckersten Margaritas, einer der hippesten Neuer\u00f6ffnungen in Soho \u00a0und den teuersten Avocadotoast geniessen d\u00fcrfen.\u00a0<\/p>

So l\u00e4ssig und elegant wie Carry Bradshaw ein Taxi angehalten bekam, klappt das bei uns Touristen nat\u00fcrlich nicht. Aber der Verkehr ist grad in Manhattan so heftig, dass man zu Fuss und per Subway besser vorw\u00e4rtskommt. Dank des neuen OMNY System brauchten wir auch nur unsre smartwatch an das Leseger\u00e4t der U- Bahn zum halten, schon waren die 2,60$ Fahrtgeld bezahlt . Jede Fahrt kostet hier gleich viel, egal ob Kurz, oder Langstrecke. Und die Staten Island Ferry ist ja bekanntlich sogar umsonst. Ja, manches ist auch in dieser Stadt erschwinglich! Umso teurer sind die Aussichtsplattformen auf die Stadt, ( wir hatten allerdings auch kein St\u00e4dtepass) , sodass wir uns nur das Rockefeller Center g\u00f6nnten. Unsere Spazierg\u00e4nge erstreckten sich durch den Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo, High Line, Soho und nat\u00fcrlich die 5.th Avenue. Besonders gefallen hat mir die High Line und Central Station.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Nach dem Flug mit United nach Miami nehmen wir unseren Mietwagen in Empfang und machen uns direkt auf den Weg nach Key West. Der Temperaturunterschied ist gewaltig! Von frostigen 2 Grad in New York empf\u00e4ngt uns der sunshine State mit 28 Grad. Und so wird es auch die ganze Zeit bleiben. Gute 4 Stunden braucht man bis zum s\u00fcdlichsten Zipfel der USA . Wir sind froh, als wir das Autobahngewusel von Miami hinter uns haben und desto n\u00e4her wir Key West kommen, desto spektakul\u00e4rer wird die Aussicht.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Wir verbringen 4 wundervolle Tage in Key West. Unser Guesthouse liegt direkt am southermost Point. Von dort gehen wir jeden Morgen in der Bucht um die Ecke im Meer schwimmen, finden ein sch\u00f6nes Restaurant direkt am Strand und besuchen die Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeit bequem mit dem Fahrrad. Obwohl die Strassen voll von Touristen sind strahlt der Ort eine unglaublich entspannte L\u00e4ssigkeit aus. Mir hat Key West sehr gut gefallen. Ich wollte schon immer mal diesen typischen S\u00fcdstaatenflair sp\u00fcren, \u00a0die wundersch\u00f6nen Holzh\u00e4user, die W\u00e4rme der Sonne, die Farben des Meeres am Abend und die fr\u00f6hlichen Menschen ist das perfekt gelungen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ein absolutes Muss ist nat\u00fcrlich das Haus von Hemingway, aber auch der Sommersitz vom ehemaligen Pr\u00e4sidenten Harry S. Truman lohnt einen Besuch. Nach diesen eindrucksvollen \u00a0Tagen ging es weiter an die Golfk\u00fcste Floridas. Wir hatten \u00fcber vrbo ein Ferienhaus auf Marco Island gebucht. Warum haben wir uns daf\u00fcr entschieden? Zum Einen ist das Angebot von Ferienh\u00e4usern und Freizeitangeboten hier sehr umfangreich, zum Anderen war die Insel vom letzten Hurricane kaum betroffen.Unser gemietetes Haus lag in einer ruhigen Wohngegend, der Strand war mit Fahrr\u00e4dern schnell zu erreichen. Allerdings geht die Anmietung von H\u00e4usern f\u00fcr uns Europ\u00e4er nicht so einfach. Einmal war die Bezahlung etwas kompliziert und zweitens verschickt die Agentur die Zugangsdaten zum Haus \u00fcber eine app, die man aber als Nicht Amerikaner nicht herunterladen kann. Doch mit einigen leicht stressigen Telefonaten \u00f6ffneten sich doch noch die T\u00fcren zu unserem Domizil f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chsten 9 Tage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Da Marco Island nah an den Everglades liegt, machten wir mehrere Ausfl\u00fcge dorthin. Mit den unterschiedlichsten fahrbaren Unters\u00e4tzen kann man diese faszinierende Landschaft erkunden. Riesig Spass hat mir die Fahrt mit dem airboat gemacht, aber auch die Tour mit dem Paddelboot kann ich sehr empfehlen. Florida ist eine Hochburg des Golfsportes. Die sogenannten “ snowbirds“ -gut situierte \u00a0Rentner aus den n\u00f6rdlichen Bundesstaaten-fallen in den Wintermonaten \u00fcber den sunshine State herein und genie\u00dfen die gut gepflegten und zahlreichen Golfpl\u00e4tze. Da auch in der N\u00e4he von Marco Island zahlreiche Pl\u00e4tze liegen, spielten auch wir drei verschiedene Pl\u00e4tze. Und hier ist es wirklich ein Traum! \u00a0 Was darf nat\u00fcrlich an Floridas K\u00fcste nicht fehlen? Lange, weisse Sandstr\u00e4nde und traumhafte Sonnenunterg\u00e4nge. \u00a0So packten auch wir Klappst\u00fchle und Sonnenschirme ein und genossen das warme Meer und den breiten Strand, wo jeder ein Pl\u00e4tzchen findet. Auch hier sind die Amerikaner sehr entspannt, jeder so, wie er mag. So endeten \u00a0diese traumhaften Tage und ich muss sagen , dass die USA eines der sch\u00f6nsten, bestorganisiertesten und freundlichen Urlaubsl\u00e4nder immer noch ist und hoffentlich so bleiben wird.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
